Solved Can't see computer on my network

Had it working before I had to re-install Windows.
Main PC running Win7 Pro.
Other PC is running Linux, Samba.
Using a wireless router at main PC end.
Both machines can ping the router and each other.
But Linux machine is not visible in Network.
Have a BluRay player on network as well, and it sees the main PC.

No Homegroup.
Set as Home network.
File and printer sharing turned on.
Network Discovery turned on.
Password protect turned off.

Now stuck.

Yup - that is how I test them pinging each other! I should have made notes when I did it originally.
I fixed the workgroup name problem. Now I see PUPSERVER but can't get to PUPSERVER\pupshare.

Fixed. Was workgroup name. But I have to keep running back to the spare-room where the Linux PC is - if I go more than a few minutes without transferring data it forgets its setup.

This is how I used to file share View attachment File sharing.pdf Now I have SkyDrive on both my computers. It works a lot better.

More like useless and absolutely impossible. Skydrive is WAY too slow for me also.

I can't say why your Linux pc is forgetting it's workgroup name.

Using a different workgroup name to WORKGROUP - forgot to change it on Windows machine when I re-installed Windows.
