Make sure you have permission to access the drive. Right-click on the drive, and select Properties. In the Security tab, give yourself permission.

Fredde,

WIN | type cmd.exe | right-click on cmd.exe in the resulting list and choose "Run as administrator"

Now you are at a command prompt.

Using good old dos commands can you choose the drive? In other words, can you simply type G: and hit the Enter key to have the prompt show G:

If yes, then what do you see if you type DIR and hit Enter

Let us know what your see.

Thanks, i tried it, it says "no files was found". Does that means it is really empty ?
But why in that case Properties about the G: drive says that its only 63 mb free space ?
Can i assume that thoose files are gone what the properties found ? Can i Format the hole drive and start over ? Shit, thoose files were pretty importent, but if i cant get them in any way, i dont have any choise.

Is there anything else i can do ?
Thanks in advance!

Fredde,

What happens if once again, via the command prompt, change to G: and type ATTRIB

If now you see some directories and/or files then use attrib to clear the attrib "hidding" the info from you.

Now if this this fails, download and burn to CD PuppyLinux and boot from PuppyLinux.

PuppyLinux is a small version of Linux with an easy to use user interface and you can load it into ram so that it makes no changes to your system and doesn't alter your boot scheme.

With PuppyLinux you should be able to view the files and move them, etc.

I ran into a similar problem as I put my old XP drive in an external USB docking station. Here is something to look at and only takes a minute.

From the Start button Search for "partition".
From the list that appears select "Create & Format Hard Drive Partition"
Now scroll down the list of your hard drives to the "graphical" part.

Does your C:\ drive and the XP drive both show? Do they both indicate "Healthy"?

In my case the old XP drive showed unallocated space and that is why I couldn't see it.
