When I try to save a PDF file that I generated from a webpage (while viewing the file in Adobe Reader), the Save As box appears with the icons for Recent Places, Desktop, Libraries, etc. along a column on left side (as usual). However, when I click on any of them to try to get to My Documents and other subfolders, they do not come up - nothing happens. I have no problems saving excel and word files and finding various subfolders while using those programs. I also have no problems Exploring various subfolders. I've never had this problem before - performed this many times over the years. Related: today I tried to attach a photo from My Pictures folder. Although I can view the pictures while Exploring, I see no pics when trying to attach. All this happens regardless of whether I'm trying to view files via Details, Folders, Tiles, Thumbnails, etc. Thoughts?

Let me get it clear in my mind. This problem just appeared, or it has always been a problem on this machine?

If it just appeared, then if you have a Restore Point from just previous to the appearance of the issue, I'd use that to restore. If it's always been a problem on this machine with that program, I'd try their forum. Somebody else likely has the same problem with the same make of machine on Adobe forum(assuming they have some forums.)

This is a wide spread issue that has been occurring in various web email accounts,
Usually this would point to some type of malware setting either the Library or folders inside the library as hidden in the attributes,
You can use these free tools to see if they find anything,
Manually Update them before running full scans,
Try not to use your computer while the scans are running, (one at a time of course).

This one is the longest up to 4 hours, the others are only about 45 minutes,

There have been many posted workarounds as Showing Hidden folders, files and drives in folder options,
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/56005-file-folder-hide-unhide.html
Also you could just Rename the effected folder and test/ add anything in front of the folders name.

P.S.
Please add what Security suite you have installed and any prior security you've uninstalled,
Also please use this tutorial to fill in your system spec's,

Thanks to both of you that replied on this matter. It was a one-time thing last week - appears to have resolved itself over the long weekend.

It probably just needed a day off. :)
