Can't see/hear videos in Getting started with Windows 7

Hello

I have Windows 7 Ultimate.

From Start > Getting Started > Discover Windows 7 > clicking a video on
" More getting started videos " ie. ' Personalising your PC ' I can neither see the video or hear any sound though the window does go through 100% buffering.

Any solutions to my issue would be welcome. Thank you.

Hi, when did the issue started happenning?

Can you go onto Control Panel > Sound. What is listed in there?

It it is probably your video player. If you have one installed, try to uninstall and install this. Before any installation I make sure that I make a system restore point. The download may not be right for you or it may change the OS in ways that you do not like.

So, just download and begin enjoying your favorite videos. Incidentally, my favorites are on youtube. Take care.

The issue started straight after installing Windows 7.

Control Panel > Sound > two devices are listed under Playback which are 1) Speakers Realtek AC'97 Audio Default Device and has a green tick by the side.
2) Realtek Digital Output Realtek AC'97 Audio Ready.

There is no video play either after 100% buffering.

Try the above installation, yours may be corrupt. If that does not work we have other suggestions like an sfc, but I think the download will solve your problem.

I am little confused what video player will that be ? Is it window Media Player 12 which comes with Windows 7 and how do I uninstall and reinstall this version.

Are you saying that it is only certain videos or all videos? In your first post, I thought that it was all videos, with examples given.

In the Sounds panel, go to the Sound tab, and test a program Events sound. Do you hear anything?

Yes I can hear sound in Program Events on clicking test button.

Then more than likely it not your sound device. I never launch that demo in w7 so i wouldnt know. Try and switch to different playback auto type in Playback type. I assume you music DVDs etc works as well?

Hi, simply instll the following drver for your geforce MX440:

now you can play games and see videos
