Hi,

my Setup:
Sony Vaio VPCCW1S1E (14" Notebook with Nvidia Gt230M) and 19" Peacock Crt at native resolution at 1152x864x85Hz.

When I connect my Monitor windows recognizes it flawlessly, but I can't choose the native resolution. I just can use 1600x1200, some 1280x... 1024x768 and 800x600.

How can I tell Windows to give me an Option for 1152x864 resolution.

Thanx

You have to go into the properties for your mointor and tell it to show resolutions that aren't compatible with the monitor. Sometimes Windows blocks out resolutions for no reason.

Control Panel (All Items) > Display > Change Screen Resolution > Advanced settings > Monitor Tab > Select the external monitor > Uncheck "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display"

Does the laptop have to run both screens at the same resolution? That might explain the greyed-out option.

I don't think so,

I tried to expand the desktop, different resolutions should be allowed here. My first screen ist running at 1366x768 , the second one at 1600x1200, but not its native 1152x864.

I plugged the crt via vga adapter...
