Can't set Games feature on

Can not use the MS Games. Every time I try to check the feature for Games ON it runs the green ribbon but gets a message that an error occured and it could not complete. Then it asks me to restart the machine. The change does not take effect. Am I doing something wrong?

I suspect a problem with the OS. I would run a system file check to verify and repair your system files

type cmd in search. Right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow (note the space between the sfc and "/")

Did it the hard way

After posting this thread I found another thread that was my situation exactly. It said that MS Support had said to install Win7 Pro again in "Over-Install" mode. This I did and it resolved my problem, but took 6+ hours. I am sorry that after that i forgot to update this thread.
Your recommendation sounds much more concise. Thank you for your prompt and excellent advice.
