First of all, Hey There.
Im New here at this forum, but i hope i get some help from you guys!

Im so mad at this that i cant even almost explain it. Here i go!

I Have bought a XCM Box Vga 1080p to play Nintendo Wii at my monitor, (Hp 2159V) . With Windows XP, i could set my default resolution that is 1920 X 1080 and stays perfect, but i love Windows 7 , so i prefer windows 7 , i have already a version of windows 7 installed in my hard drive, that i have tryed so many things that it worked!! BUT i dont know what i have done to make it work... i changed again, and Now it says the maximum resolution i have is 1600 X 1200 and dont gets over it. All my images gets big and fat! I know that it works fine because i have already before this working with 1920 X 1080 but now i cant put it in that resolution!

I have a Geforce 9800 GT updated with the lasted firmware!

I think the problem is , with windows seven it detects as a monitor non generic and the maximum resolution is 1600 X 1200 but i cant change it!

Sorry for my bad english, Im from Portugal! Please Help me :(

Try to install the monitor drivers first. If it's not an issue with the GPU drivers, and not the monitor driver, we can move on.

EDIT:

HURRAY I FOUND A "FIX" !!!

:D Here i have set it like this

it doesnt screw my computer or other part of my computer right?
I have set it like that , it means screen diginal painel 1920 X 1080 (i think sorry for my bad english) , after i set it like that, and changed to 1920 X 1080 via a created resolution of nvidia painel control, it worked fine .
Now my fear is , can this make a damage for my computer or screen?

If your monitor originally supports 1920x1080 @60Hz, it shouldn't be a problem.
