I have the Windows 7 build 7000 on my C:\ Drive, which is a 19.0 GB NTFS Primary partition. I have 2 other partitions, a Data D:\ Logical drive, which is 140.0 GB NTFS partition, and a Downloads E:\ Logical drive, which is 73.88 GB NTFS. I want to shrink the D:, because I think the 19.00 GB isn't enough for the 7, so I want to extend it, but I the size of available shrink space is only 3744 MB, which is not enough for me. I have 55.8 GB free space on the D: drive, and it is 0% fragmented.

Any idea?

I'm not sure about this, but as far as I can remember, windows can shrink partitions and use the available space from left to right.

So , try shrinking E: , then extend D: using all the space that will become unallocated, then shrink D: and extend C: with the rest of the space.

If this doesn't work, then with your current partitioning , you cannot extend C:.

Well, I shrunk the E as much as I could. Now I have 51.99 GB E: and 21.89 GB free space AFTER the E:, so I can extend only the E:, but I can't extend the D: or C: drives. So what do you suggest? Write to DVD's all my data and reformat the D: drive?

It's like a blog now, but I DID IT! I needed a Hiren's boot CD, and I could make a 41 GB primary partition from the D: with the Partition Magic 8.05, after it I could remove it and extend the C: with the built-in Computer Manager stuff. :D So now I'm really happy.
