Can't SOLVE PC ISSUE MESSAGE!!!!

My son recently tried to install a pirated copy of some video game called The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion onto my computer. Needless to say it didn't work quite as he hoped. Not only was the game not compatible with my PC, but even now that its uninstalled, Windows 7 is telling me there is a problem with it.

The action center tells me there is a problem with that needs to be addressed with the game, but when it tries to solve the problem or even find out what the problem is, it fails.

Any ideas on what may be the problem?

dont install pirated software the only thing you can do is uninstall the program from the control panel->uninstall

Use the best method. Use system restore from the time before the "incident". We do not know what kind of junk, virus, spyware etc is on that game. The fact that it is pirated makes other options futile.

See if the Oblivion folder is stil in program files and delete it. Are there any error pop-ups? I had a problem like that. I installed a incompatible game and uninstalled it. After it was uninstalled i got popups that said the driver for starforce (game security) is incompatible and i couldnt uninstall it. I had to go to the starforce website and get a tool to uninstal it.
Have you tried Ccleaner or advanced system care? A good tool to uninstall a program completely is Revo Uninstaller.

Empty the %TMP% folder too, skip any files that will not delete and reboot.

Use System Restore to back to a point before the game was installed.

It seems that there were some files left over in the Games folder, i deleted those and so far no more messages.

Now for some advice......get yourself a good backup program that will make a system image of your C drive, and save it to a spare partition/drive in case something like this happens in the future....

Maybe use a 3rd party uninstaller like this: http://c0464521.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/revosetup.exe
It will remove any traces of the program you want to uninstall from the HDD and registry.
