Can't ungroup Public documents

So I can't ungroup public documents, and I don't want them to be public, any suggestions?

Sure you can: right click in the white part of the explorer window and choose Group by then select None. You can't ungroup if the files/folders are selected.
As to them being public or not: move anything you don't want public from the Public folder (that will be under Users\Public)
