I have a Dell Inspiron 560 desktop and I just phoned Dell to find out if I can get a system recovery disk in case I upgrade to Windows 10 and don't like it and want to go back to Windows 7. The customer adviser told me that Windows 10 cannot be downloaded onto this computer, however it is waiting for my in the Windows Updates program. Does this simply mean that when I actually select to do the upgrade, that it won't actually work?

You don't need a recovery disc. Buy an external USB 3.0 hard drive (around $50) and use Macrium Reflect Free to create an image backup of your Windows 7 system now. Then if any problems or you don't like it, restore the backup image and you're right back to where you were when the image was created.

Much, much better than recovery disc.

Good tutorial for Macrium here: Imaging with free Macrium
