I tried using the Windows anytime upgrade and it lets me know my key will not work. I received Windows 7 pro w/sp1 from school with a key and wanted to upgrade. When I try using the cd I created with the pro it says I must use Windows anytime upgrade. Please help.

So custom means I need to do a clean install? Will I be able to use my back up disks to restore my settings and files after?

Yes custom means a clean install.

What backup discs are you talking about? One's you created or factory restore discs?

You can move your files back in to a clean install, you will have to redo your settings though.

I would create an image before doing anything so you always have that to go back on if needed or wanted.
