Can't upload pix files, worked fine last week, noticed Flash player 32 Active X installed (not me on purpose) just before upload quit. Tried on (2) diff emails so it isn't the email. Thought maybe the Flash player is gumming up the works, could just uninstall it but some say you need it??

What program [a geomatics program used for processing and analyzing geographic images] are you using that needs pix files?

I don't know if either of these will help =>

[1] .pix Extension - List of programs that can open .pix files.
[2] PCIDSK (PIX).

What program are you using to upload the files [Is it compatible with the pix files]?

I hope this helps!

can't upload scanned images

Files are scanned and saved as jpeg files. Nothing special just some legal docs. Worked last week, same docs, the only diff is the flashplayer download between this week and last week. Thinking of dumping flashplayer, it was loaded auto.

just sending/emailing scanned legal docs (jpeg files). Nothing technical or diff from stuff sent last week with no problems, only diff is the auto DL of flashplayer.

What does .pix files have to do with .jpeg?

If you go here-

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash

what is the version number for the FlashUtil32.........?

Also, what happens when you try to upload a .jpeg?

pardon me, I incorrectly used the term pix instead of jpeg (did not realize that .pix is itself an extension).

These are just simple, one page, mostly text scanned jpeg image files that won't upload for emailing.

Everything was fine prior to June 18 when Flashplayer 32 Active X, 5.34mB, version 32.0.0.207 auto downloaded. Thinking it is affecting the uploads and I should just uninstall it, did not have it on computer and everything was fine. Not sure why it auto downloaded. I can send regular emails without jpeg attachments. Did a test and can send emails with docx attachment no problems, so the issue seems to be with upload of jpegs and the mysterious auto download of the Flashplayer 32.

Wither2--pix is slang way for "pictures." Sometimes "pics" too.

beckman--there's no known connection between Flash Player and your email attachments. If you think there's some unusual connection here, uninstall FP in your Control Panel. You can reinstall it later, but there are very few sites, mostly game sites, where you still need it.

What program or site are you using for your email? Test some attachments by emailing them to yourself. What happens?

JPEG upload problems

I did test send myself emails with other non jpg attachments with no problems. I only have issues with jpg attachments. Happens with aol and gmail. I even tried to paste the jpeg into a word doc and send it, did not work. I think I will uninstall the phantom FP download and see what happens; I don't need FP since I ONLY use the computer when I can' t use the phone, no gaming or surfing, etc.

You still didn't say what happens when you try to upload the .jpegs. Are you getting an error message?

I was able to upload 3 random jpegs as attachments when composing an e-mail in my aol account. I've attached one so you can try it.

AOL Mail is full of bugs, but they're not consistent. A friend refuses to change, but keeps pestering me about AOL problems, sometimes sending out emails while she's still typing, sometimes omitting attachments, sometimes not sending out at all. Sometimes no bugs for days. Don't know about Gmail.

I named my cat "BrushHerFur" so I can say...

I don't have any problems with AOL other than its default spam filter isn't the greatest.

can't send attachments jpeg or pdf

I uninstalled the Adobe FP and still had attachment problem, I then "inserted" a jpeg into a test email and it sent OK and just printed the jpeg insert OK. Computers have a mind of their own, work one day and not the next. I am sure there is some esoteric workaround (like the one I noted above). Will keep trying. Don't jinx yourself by saying you don't have any AOL problems, the AOL and Windows 7 gods are all knowing and all powerful ya know.

That doesn't mean that other people don't have problems. They're not consistent. And they're owned by Verizon now...

You embedded it inline instead of as an attachment?
