Can't Use MicroPhone

Hello, I am new to the forums. Recently I downloaded "Ventrilo" where you can chat with others.

I noticed my Mic was not working. I have windows 7 home premium 32 bit.

Realtek High Definition Audio

When I talk watching the device in control panel, nothing is heard. The bars don't increase, and no sound is detected. I can't get them to work.

Can someone help me?

Welcome to sevenforums.
Did you set your mic to 'Default Communication Device'? To do this, right click on the speaker icon and select Recording devices, then right click on your mic and select 'Set as default communication device'.
If not, you may need to re-download your motherboards audio driver.
