Cant use my CD/DVD drives

Hey guys... When i enter a disk into my cd or dvd drive nothing happens! I open "my computer" and my drives arent even there! I have tried switching the cables out with others but nothing seems to work. Plz help!

Do they show up in the Bios?

Maybe there not turned on in bios.

Try this:
Your CD drive or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs
Your CD or DVD drive can't read or write media
The CD drive or the DVD drive does not work as expected on a computer that you upgraded to Windows Vista

I have just checked the bios...i activated all the drives and i only got the CD drive to work. Both drives have power. But when i put a disk into either one nothing happens. And before windows loaded i get an error saying "Disk 0 is performing outside normal ____" (i forgot the last word(s).

Can you see the drives in disk management? now that they're enabled in bios you could have Drive letter conflicts.

When i open disk management i see three drives (Disk 0: Local drive C; Disk 1: Local Disk D; Then my CD drive: no letter) My DVD drive is nowhere to be found.

hey guys...i just got the problem solved...i had re-replace the cords and for some odd reason it is now working

Apparently you made a better connection, can be alittle trickey at times.
