When watching a video with WMP/WMC while SD card is inserted, cpu utilization will stay way too high for me. Like %60 instead of %10. When I open task manager I suspect I see an exra wmp service running while sd card is inserted. I suspect it's trying to sync with SD card in the backround that's causing this. If so I'd like to know how to remove WMP sync option since I don't use it anyway if anybody knows how.

Strange. Do you get the popup asking what to do with the files on this removable storage device? If so clkick do nothing and check the "always preform this action" box. Sometimes when that popup is waiting for a respoinse it can cause similar issues.

Go to Services and stop "Windows Driver Foundation". Right click on it and go to Properties and change from automatic to disabled.

This did not help. The main problem is if I open WMP while I'm viewing a file from my SD card; cpu utilization will soar. Any other ideas?

My suspicion is that WMP is trying to sync to the sd card. Here is the MS procedure to suppress that:

If your device syncs automatically, the Player starts sync every time you connect the device to a computer. You can turn this option off if you want to choose when sync starts by doing the following:
Click the arrow below the Sync tab, point to the device, and then click Advanced Options.
The properties dialog box for your device is displayed. In the Sync tab, clear the Start sync when device connects check box.
The next time you want to sync, connect the device to your computer, click the Sync tab, and then click Start Sync.

I did what you said but problem persists. CPU utilization will stay at 3 times higher than it should be if I try to use WMP while HCSD card is inserted.
