I just got this Dell 1545. when I am typing and I hit caps lock, which I do often when I'm typing, this annoying popup appears in the lower right-hand corner of my screen. It actually stalls my typing. Instead of being able to toggle back and forth between caps and uncapped, now I have to stop and reposition the cursor.

Please, please, please. I have looked all over the web and no one seems to know how to turn this off. People keep telling me how to disable the caps lock, which is not what I want to do. I type rapidly and need to be able to hit it, have it cap what I'm typing, hit it again, uncap what I'm typing, without it moving my curosr. Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone tell me how to turn this popup off?

OK it seems that you actually paid for this great feature when you bought your Dell. This is the way to fix it, but unless you are familiar with registry do not do it yourself. A registry change can cause all kind of problems, unless done correctly. There are no do overs. Once you make the change its done, no boot is necessary. That being said
Turning off Caps Lock Pop Up Display in Vista
Back up registry first and make a system restore, just in case. The above should work in Seven, too.

I have not tested the changes, any result is possible.

Bill2 - I deleted Quickset and that terrible popup is gone! You have no idea how appreciative I am of you, seriously. I was about to throw this computer out the window. Thank you thank you thank you! I have--SERIOUSLY--been all over the net and seen many different thoughts but no one, not even my very computer-savvy court reporter friends, have known how to do that! Did I say thank you enough? Thank you thank you THANK YOU thanK yOu
