card reader not showing

A make and model of this card reader would be helpful. I can tell you that all card readers are not created equal. I finally broke down and popped for a Lexar pro model and it rules !

I believe you have a good reader but may need to format the sd/cf or what ever flash drive you're trying to read. I have several sd cards that can't be seen in the reader built into my laptop but the same sd card reads fine in the Lexar and Ultra reader built into my desktop? If it's out of a camera sometimes I'm forced to keep it in the camera and hook the camera up to the computer via it's usb cable.
