Solved Catalyst control center help please!

ok so catalyst control center is acting up big time. i cant open the program at all. i dont even get a tray icon. at first every time i tried to open it id get the error message "Host application stopped working" and now ive reinstalled it after completely uninstalling and i get this error message "Could not load file or assembly 'CLI.Implementation' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified." i dont know what to do. someone help please?

What did you use to re install CCC?

System restore?

no i havent. but i did do what someone suggested and reinstalled .net framework as well.

Ok are you able to perform a system restore to a previous point before the issues occurred?

well im not quite sure when in first started happening. was a few months back and i have a lot of things that i need on my HD now.

What you could do is uninstall the current CCC drivers then reboot and clean out any amd drivers with driver sweeper. Also one question,what video card are you using to be able to give you the correct link for your video cards drivers. This tutorial in the blue link will show you how to clean out your drivers with driver sweeper and reinstall your ccc drivers to the latest version for your video card. The fix I wrote there is the only working solution I have found to CCC not opening.

Ive tried all that m1g. i used drive sweeper. i uninstalled i reinstalled everything. im using an hd radeon 4870. ill try your link magus and give you feedback as to whether it worked or not

ok guys i found a fix. when i uninstalled using add/remove programs. CCC was still on the list. so i installed CCleaner. a free registry cleaning program and i uninstalled CCC from there inside the registry itself. reinstalled CCC after that and it worked just fine. add/remove programs didnt have enough power to completely get rid of CCC. i ran registry scan 3 times and some CCC programs came up and some .NET framework things came up so i repaired and then reinstalled CCC and it worked like a charm. started up faster than ever. no problems.

Just for the record if you don't have the key token it's not the problem affecting you.
It was worth a look though, I am glad you are sorted. I likely wouldn't have even linked my fix if I had read all the posts in full. You had a different situation here.

yea i thought it was a bit weired as well... windows add/remove program didnt completely remove it because it didnt have full access to the registry..
