Hope I have this in the right forum.
Thanks for any help.

Stats: Windows 7 pro 64-bit
GoAsm 64-bit

I see several fixes for the CC.DLL problem on the internet BUT they
are from companies that I am not familiar with and have no idea if
the program they recommend is safe.

Error Message when compiling program: "could not open an input file
(CC.dll) needed for forced dll on import by ordinal"
Of course this error message as usual makes no sense.

Open Control Panel, and go to System > Advanced System Settings. Open the Advanced tab on the window that pops up, and go to the bottom of the window and click on the "Environment Settings" button. When the new window pops up, find the path setting under "System Variables" and choose edit.

Then add the complete path to your CC.dll file to the end of the path string. Save, and log out of your user session and log back in. It should work. If it doesn't try rebooting. If it still does not work, or you have trouble, please post back.

Thank you very much for helping MH.

That's right. That's why you have your problem.

You want to edit the Path line, and add the full path for the CC.dll at the end of the line, like this:

path c:\windows\system32;c:\windows;c:\windows\system3...;Drive\Path\CC.dll

Where Drive is the drive that the CC.dll is on, and Path is the set of folders that lead to it. Once you add that, and reboot, or relog, the CC.dll problem will probably go away.

This is the 1st time I ever heard of a cc.dll driver. The drive is no problem as it must be C.
But since I didn't know it existed before I have no idea what the path might be.
A guess would be c:\windows\system32\cc.dll.....

It's not a driver, it's a dynamic link library that I assume is required for your compiler program to work properly.

Open Windows Explorer and type CC.dll into the search bar. The computer will find the file if it exists on your computer, but it may take a while. Take note of the path when it finds it. Add that path (written exactly) to the end of the path statement in the environment variables window, separated by a semi-colon.

Thanks again MH.
Search does not find CC.dll.

What I'm going to have to do is go back two weeks and restore windows.
Then search for CC.dll. It should be there. Copy it and write down the path.
Then restore the current Windows and install the CC.dll.
If this doesn't work then I am at a loss.
