What would cause a CD drive to be unable to read a CD it used be able to. Its DVD. Its driver working but may not be newest and the CD won't read shows it being half full but can't get to files how ever it reads other CDs fine. For sure it read just fine before dunno went Web site no new CD drivers. Is there difference between windows versions?

There are no different drivers. The ones that get installed by Windows are the only ones you are likely to find. If it's just one disc, and all other discs read just fine, then I'd try that "bad" disc on a different computer. The problem might just be a bad CD.

the only odd thing I did was I burnt it like a usb drive (if this is a known windows option) so after re-installing is it possible that this is why I can't read it anymore and if so is there a program to? I lucky have whats on it backed up else where but there are a couple things I wouldn't mind getting back other wise bla :P
