HI
I have had an issue in the last week or so while watching DVDs in one my drives it freezes just once an episode of what i am watching (Hustle if any UK members know it) then carries on, i put it down to the DVD. Last two times its done it it freezes but doesnt restart so i have to open the tray (it wont turn off via the media play Nero 2015) I played one episode in the other DVD player and it worked fine so i am guessing Play 2 has issues - Is there a way to check if the player is on its way out or do i have to wait untill it dies
I am after people thoughts on it more than anything

Thanks

It might be that the drive is going. If you have a friend with a DVD burner/player, borrow it and see if the problem occurs with that drive. If it doesn't, your drive is suspect and should probably be replaced. Is it making any grinding noises? When it freezes, can you still hear the drive whirring like it's playing? Keep in mind that if it isn't something mechanical, it could be a software issue = harder to fix.

DVD drives are cheap these days (and aren't built very well), so replacing it shouldn't be a hardship. They are around $17 CDN at my local computer shop.
