My husband just upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista and now his CD drive does not work. I could not find the drive in the device manager. Is there anything i can do to fix this?

Restart the computer and hit whatever button to get into the BIOS (default buttons are usually F1, Del, or F2). If your computer doesn't have some sort of Quick Boot option enabled, you should be able to read on the loadout whether the motherboard detects the drive. If not, go into the BIOS and find a "General Settings" tab of sorts that lists what drives are detected and any CD/DVD drive should be detected there. If it is not detected there, then it could be either hardware failure, a bad connection, or a bad port on the motherboard.
