CD/DVD Drive not working

I just noticed this today when trying to burn a CD in iTunes. I've since looked on Device manager, and I get this message on the CD ROM tab:
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

I have a Dell laptop running Windows 7

Any idea how this can be fixed or is there no chance? Many Thanks for any help

Hi and Welcome to Windows 7 Forums Have you tried rebooting your laptop ? If that does not work uninstall your cd/dvd player shut down and restart your laptop , hope this helps.
