Hi as of late my CD/DVD drive has began to stop reading dvds. It will work reading data discs/game discs. But wont play any dvds. I tried updating the firmware for it and it worked a little. I can now start up and watch dvds but can only maybe get to 10-20 mins beofre it won't read any more. Also when it won't play a dvd right clicking my cd rom in "My Computer" tab makes my pc stop working, until i eject the disc. Thank's for any help.

I'd start with trying a different cable, and if that doesn't fix it then look for a new drive. Certainly sounds like it is on its way out.

Considering they can be had for £20 or less, it doesn't make much sense to put too much time into troubleshooting if it is failing.
