My CD/DVD player won't play anything since my upgrade except for the Windows 7 upgrade disk. I have a Dell laptop Inspirion E 1705 with a NEC DVD+RW ND-6650A ATA device. Even though I am still under warranty, Dell won't help me since I purchased the computer with Windows XP. There support will not cover Windows 7. I have the most current driver for my computer that the Dell website offers. My brother has the exact same computer and we upgraded to Windows 7 on the same day. We have the Family Windows 7 upgrade. Any suggestions?

What does it say in device manager (type device manager in search). Go to the dvd tab and check to see if it is there and does not have a yellow triangle on it

I went to device manager. The DVD/CD is there with the full description. There is no question mark or yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it.
