CD-Rom Drive missing after Hibernation

Hello,

Was hoping I didn't have any more problems, but here I am. I'm running a Fujitsu T5010 (laptop/tablet) with Windows 7 x64.

After sleep mode and or hibernation, my CD-Rom drive disappears. I've tried everything from registry hacks to that silly Windows program that did nothing repeatedly to fix it. Nothing works except restarting, which is often impractical.

Even more strangely is the fact that the computer insists I have a BD-Rom drive attached, which I clearly don't. It never registers anything in the CD-Rom drive as belonging to the BD-Rom drive either; as far as I can tell its completely useless, but probably harmless. Fujitsu tech support never got past the reinstall stage of the process, and I don't know which drivers actually control the drive, so I can't simply uninstall and load the proper drivers.

If you uninstall it from the Device Manager, restart Windows should recognize it and install it for you. Of course make a restore point first.

I uninstalled, and restarted, and both drives were there. Only one physically exists, and its not the one that always shows up after sleep/hibernation.

Still having this problem. It was good for a week after I tried the help above, and I just woke up and the cd drive was missing.

Check your laptop manufactures forum's, maybe it's an issue that has been solved, or someone may have more insight about this.
