CDBOOT: Couldn't find BOOTMGR

Just tried reinstalling and lm getting "CDBOOT: Couldn't find BOOTMGR" which lm very confused about.

my specs should be as stated in my profile.

lm not exactly having any system problems as such just a minor freeze on closing Firefox but since its been a year l thought it was time for some early spring cleaning, lve also not seen any BSODs either.

lve looked around and tired one or two things, like changing boot priority etc and using a PS2 keyboard but l still get the error.. nothing whatsoever has changed since install apart from that its now a year old, lm even using the same backup disk, lm just wondering if there is anything lm missing because this issue is really confusing me :sarc:

1) Try Cleaning the Windows 7 Installation DVD.
2) try cleaning the DVD drive.
3) If you have a spare DVD drive, try with spare drive.
4) If you downloaded the ISO, try reburning.

The OP is booting from DVD, with Couldn't find BOOTMGR.

You can not restore MBR on a DVD disc.

I understand that.

He states the OS is installed but the CD won't find Boot Manager.

So it appeared to me he was trying to repair the boot on his installation.
So I was trying to assist a boot repair.

No argument intended I just read it differently than you.

Now I'm not sure what he is asking for.

well lve managed to reinstall, took a long short and tried an external USB CD/DVD writer drive l have attached on my parents EeeBox and it worked, which leads me to believe its a problem with my Samsung drive which worked originally to install but not for a reinstall a year later.

guess lve gotta buy a new DVD rewriter drive T_T second one in about a year.

If the Samsung is less than a year old, it should be under warranty. Call or email their tech support to RMA.

not worth it, cheaper to buy a new one according to what l was told when enquiring.
