Centronic Printer

I am at my wits end with my printer.
I have a Kyocera FS1000 which has been an excellent printer and has operated happily under Windows 98, Win 2000 and XP. However it doesn't seem to like Windows 7.
I purchased a Centronics to USB converter cable guaranteed to work with all printers.

Plugged it in, turned the printer on then turned on my Windows 7 HP G5210, it recognised there was something in the USB port, said it was installing the appropriate drivers, said it had and it was working perfectly.

Going to Devices & Printers shows all my devices connected but nothing under Printers.

It shows under Unspecified - USB2.0 Print, but I cannot find a way of engaging from any software which all ask to select a printer and there being nothing to select from I am stymied.

Went to Device Manager, USB Controllers, and it shows as USB printing Support (Port 3, Hub 1). Device working properly.

1. Is there any way of changing Unspecified to Printer ?
2. How do I make the system recognise it as my default printer?

Any advice appreciated

Ted

Dear Prof Kerfuffle,

Very many thanks. Downloaded the Kyocera Classic Universal Win 7 64 bit.

Went to Devices & Printers and selected Add Printer and pointed to downloaded inf file.

Worked a treat. Very happy again.

Cheers
