Certain fonts are very grainy in PPT and Word?

I have a designer doing re-doing a business plan for me and for some reason, the fonts she wants to use (in particular ProxiMova), are coming up very grainy and incorrect looking on my computer. This has now happened with three different fonts. whats weird is this graininess does not occur anywhere else on my PC.
I have installed the fonts correctly on my PC.

They are however looking good when viewed on my laptop.

Any idea what could be causing this to happen?

I am on a Dell desktop with Windows 7 and running Office 2010.

Have you turned on and set up ClearType?

What brand/model monitor?
