Change color of background glow behind window title

What I meant in my earlier comment is that each time I logout/login, and then copy a new theme file, it creates a new unnamed theme in My Themes under Personalize.

That is normal.

Yes, when I double-click that file, it says Please Wait, pauses for about 8 seconds while it is resetting themes I assume. Now however I get the old windows frames (not aero with rounded corners, etc.) but glow is gone now.

Did you use UxStyle Core Beta or universal theme patcher to enable custom themes?
Switch on the default Aero theme and do this.
Click on the Start Button type in Services In the search box and then click on Services


Scroll down until you see Desktop Windows Manager Sessions Manager select it in click on the Stop text and let it stop after that click on Start text and see if that works. Your screen may blink when you do this.


Do the same thing with unsigned themes if you have it there

Try the theme again.

Okay I stepped through that and did see the screen blink as you mention. I did not have any Unassigned themes appear in the list.
I now have the correct colors and Windows 7 rounded features, but have the glow still....

You still have the glow on Internet explorer to?
And you have the dark blue top frame when in focus?

Yes--exactly. I have the dark blue background which looks great, but still the whitish glow behind title in Internet Explorer, Lotus Notes, etc. etc. Everything else looks great.

If you use the one I made in post #10 you do not get the glow?
If you do not mind trying switch to the default Aero theme log off and log on delete the theme you just try and install one from post #10 and tell me if it glows is gone.

It seems that the closest I have to acheiving the result is choosing the Windows 7 Basic theme. The glow is gone, but now I just need to adjust to darker the background color in the title bars for window in focus/foreground, and slightly darker background for window open in background. Any suggestions? I attach an image below.

I can edit the basic part of the theme to do you want the same blue and gray colors like the other one?

I just did basically the same thing you want in this thread http://www.sevenforums.com/customization/198414-title-bar-glow.html try that theme and see if it works I can also add the blue and the Gray to it (this is still an aero theme not basic)

Per Windows 7 Basic (not classic): That would be great. Dark blue (Navy) background with white 9pt Segoe font for window/dialog box in focus/foreground, light gray with white 9pt Segoe font for background window/dialog box that is not in focus.

I just tried that last one you suggested but it looks the same as what I had when choosing Windows 7 Basic.
Yes, I am looking for the dark blue/med light gray in the backgrounds as mentioned in my last post.

Here you go Ian
Put both 1 theme folder and 1 .theme file in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes


Then open the Basic folder and put that 1 .theme file in C:\Windows\Resources\Ease of Access Themes


Scroll down in Personalization to the Basic theme area for Basic No_Glow_Win7
