When Running older applications, of course windows 7 switches from Aero to the Windows Basic Theme, that's completely understandable, but is there any way to change the colors of that temporary Basic Theme, so that it doesn't conflict so much with my Aero theme (my Aero theme is dark, The Basic, is this nasty white blue)

I see plenty of other colored basic themes for download, they all involve editing or patching files, will using one of those prevent me from still using Aero when running modern programs?

It shouldn't. From what I've seen, it may sometimes make subtle differences when using Aero Themes but they will be usable.
