Solved Change from 32 bit to 64 bit

I have been ask to install Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on a computer that currently has Windows 7 32-bit. Is there a simple upgrade possible or does it require a new installation and reinstall all the current programs (MS Office, Adobe, etc.)?

A simple upgrade is not possible from one bit-ness to another. You need to run a clean install, then install all your programs afresh.
