Change of monitor, no BIOS splash, Win7 splash now Vista one....

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but anyway...
Quite a while ago i swapped my old 19" monitor for my older Samsung 24" LCD 720P TV, its not bad as a monitor but i have a few issues.
Since then i am unable to access the BIOS since my BIOS splash does not display so i cannot see what key i press for what feature i want from the motherboard....
Also the Windows 7 orb splash is now the Vista green bar. This was fine before the monitor change, i have not needed to repair my system so the bootloader locale is fine. Can anyone help me with this? It would be really appreciated

When you need to go in to BIOS or do a startup repair, plug your monitor back in.

Yeah, but the problem is, my monitor is now being used by a friend for our IT work, so i am unable to do that....

hi lindsaymobil22 , try running sfc /scannow http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html just in case the new monitor corrupted some system file

Sorry to bump my old thread, but I ran sfc /verifyonly and No errors were found, so its nothing to do with my monitor corrupting anything...

I've never dealt with your particular problem, but...

The normal Win7 boot video is intended for display at 1024X768. If your monitor (an LCD TV) isn't recognized as supporting that resolution, it is supposed to revert to the Vista-like display, which runs at a lower resolution.

As far as I know, there's no general fix for the problem. Drivers wouldn't matter, because your problems occur before Windows loads.

This may be unhelpful, but the obvious fix: buy a computer monitor. Quite usable ones have gotten inexpensive in the past few years. (That's far from free, I know.)
