Change Program Display name

So, I noticed when I went to associate all my video files with VLC that it said VLC media player, my OCD kicked in because the other option was Windows Media Player. I went to the registry key for VLC and changed the display name from VLC media player to VLC Media Player with the M and the P capitalized, but it didn't change anything. Is there a way to do this?

How did you get that to be capital? I changed the registry name that you have listed, and still nothing.

I do not think that I did anything special. I did a search in the registry and changed the ones that looked like they might impact that list. I did have to refresh the list (F5) to get the change to display.

For others reading this thread - I made my changes to a Virtual Machine. All of those changes go away once I end the VM. I am not suggesting that people should go playing in the registry on a live system.
