Change Shutdown Time

Microsoft did try to change the time it takes to shutdown, but they only made it 8000 MS then Vista. In my opinion it's still slow so let's change it(sorry if this is already posted, I looked) This is common knowledge:
1. Open Regedit
2. Backup Registry if you want
3. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
4. Look for "WaitToKillServiceTimeout", by default, it is set to 12000 milliseconds(I think)
5. Change this value to anywhere from 2000-5000, that is 2-5 seconds.

I don't have any problems here. With all programs closed, the time from clicking Shut Down to the system powering off is just 15 seconds, as regular as clockwork. No registry settings have been altered, this is just the time it takes on my system.

Agreed, Dwarf - every once in a while I get an app that needs closing but that happens relatively quickly....the shutdown and sleep functions have been improved drastically in W7.
