Hi.

I have two computers wired together, one is my workstation and the other is a dedicated render node. Both have the same user name and password and the network connection between the two was working fine until I changed the computer name of the render node. Now when ever I click on the render node from the network list on my workstation I'm asked for a user name and password, I enter the user name and password for the render node but it is no longer recognised. I can still access the workstation from the render node network list. Any ideas anyone?

Hi

The network Workgroup names are the same and weren't changed, just the computer name of the render node was changed.

Hi there

If you changed the computer name then you also need to change the properties of any SHARES you have otherwise the network will ask for user and password.

Go into properties against all the disks you want to share on the network from the computer with the changed name and set the shares correctly.

For example I changed a computer name to BLACKDOG

You might need to re-boot your OTHER computer too.

Cheers
