Well my R9 270x 2mg went south (artifacts, crazy lines & colors, general junk) so I did a few diagnostics in safe mode (still with junk all over, but workable) and my R9 270x was bad. Bought a 1050Ti 4mg this morn and just got it installed. Everything is working great now. I really have no specific allegiance to AMD or nVid, I just found the 1050Ti on sale on budget and went with it. We'll see how it goes.

..by getting a new card? Yes, considering the old board was barely functioning, buying a new board was the right thing to do.
If you mean by moving from Radeon to nVid, that's subjective. I just wanted to get my machine running and the 1050 was in the right place at the right time. This board has upgraded performance over the r9 270x I had so I'm glad I made the switch.

The new card offered a bit more performance and you said in your post that it was on sale. It's a GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB by the way.

Yeah, I think I'll be happy with it. I'm not really wrapped up too much in the AMD vs NVidia thing. The 1050Ti offered the best bang for the buck, was available immediately, and was on sale! Musta' been karma.

I agree. Fanboyism is cancer. Just stick to whatever is fine doesn't matter if it has to be NVIDIA or AMD's.
