Strange and hopefully small problem -

(From a remote desktop session) I changed my windows username (ex from kurt to dan) I didn't change the password.

When I rebooted the computer, the new username dan appears, but when I enter the old password, it says "incorrect password".

So I switch to other user, and type in kurt (old name) and pass, it works and logs in - but shows my new name dan in the start menu etc...

I don't think the remote desktop session had anything to do with it.

I just wanted to change my username from kurt to dan, but something went wrong somehow..

Thoughts appreciated:confused:

Change it back.
Create a new user account called dan. Copy everything from the old kurt account to the new dan account from a 3rd user account (I use the hidden Administrator account for this. To enable enter
net user administrator /active:yes from a Elevated Command Prompt).
