Sorry for asking something about XP and Vista more than 7, but I don't really want sign up to another forum because I'm stupendously lazy. This is the chillout room, right? :p

Anyway, I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 and it used to run Vista Home Basic, but as we all know, it wasn't really made for XP tailored systems, so it, so called, "failed". Basically, we dropped down to XP but the @ symbol is written on the comma key, as it should in Vista/7, and the " written on the two key, how I like it. The trouble is, XP thinks they're the old way, so you don't get the character written on the keyboard.

I've been into Control Panel and gone into regional settings. It's on UK, and everything else is right. Even if I change it to US, everything changes to dollars, US time, etc. but the keys stay the same.

Any ideas?

Apologies for being lazy... ;)

I've been looking for some old disks that came with the XP Inside Out book (now got rid of), but couldn't find them (I think I've still got them). In the meantime, see if this helps: Change Keyboard Layout from US to UK.

Thanks for the reply. Half din't expect one. ;) But I've already tried that site and it didn't quite seem to work. I'll try again later in case something I did was wrong.
