Solved Changing c: partition with a new disk

You lose your work since it won't have enough power to RAM to sleep. I don't think it defaults to turn on Hiberfile at that point.

I wonder why you don't see faster resume than startup time. I've seen it pretty much across the board. Others?

Boot time is almost same as resume from hibernation time on my machine. But after boot I have to logon which takes 3 seconds.... and then about 2 minutes it's a little bit slow. That's because services are still starting and/or "delayed start". So actually you're right... resume from hibernation is faster.

If you don't use hibernation, you do not need the hiberfile. It takes unneccesary space on the SSD. I have deleted it on all my 6 SSDs and never missed it. I rather get rid of the hiberfile (and reduce the pagefile to 2GB) than spend extra money for a bigger SSD.

Done! Thank you! A minor question appeared: the drive letters needed to be altered. No problem, already done.

Boot is much faster.

On C and as you suggested defragment is off, system protection is on, TRIM is ON and allignement is correct.

One more question. Must I use AHCI? Is it important for disk performance and/or life time? I do not use hot swapping.

Thank you again.
