Solved Changing default hard drive?

Well. I just bought a new laptop yesterday. It's got a SDD, and 2 HDD's. The thing is, the SDD is my C: drive. So whenever I install a program, it defaults to install on the SDD which is not big enough for that at all, as right now it's simply holding the OS. Is there a way I can perhaps rename the drives so programs always install to my other drives, rather then this SDD?

You don`t want to rename any drives or change the letters now. That should only be done when you format a drive, to many things could go wrong. When you install a program just change the drive letter in the path from C: to the hard drive you want to install it on. It will still put all the usual stuff in the start menu.

For example. Instead of C: program/files/ccleaner change it to D: program/files/ccleaner or whatever the case may be. It will still put an icon on your desktop if you choose to or you can always put it in the taskbar. The icon will still be in the start menu.

And if you really need the space you could always uninstall a program on C: and install it to the other drive. But be very careful as you don`t want to loose anything you have paid for and can`t find the activation code. Hope this helps.

I don't plan on using the SSD very much, so I hopefully won't need to uninstall anything. I was just hoping to avoid to make it easier to install programs, though just changing a C: to D: isn't very hard, I just fear I'll forget a few times and have to reinstall lol.
