I own a small company and want to change ISP's but they also host our e-mail.

The company has had a particular e-mail address for almost two decades and have many clients from years ago and may not have their contact information (Clients who moved to foreign countries etc.)

I want to ditch the ISP and keep the e-mail address we have had for so long.

The ISP has said that if I discontinue taking their internet service I will also lose the e-mail address.

Note: The ISP domain is tstt.net.tt , and is "powered" by Google.
( I can go to gmail.com type in the e-mail address with the tstt.net.tt domain and log in.)

What are my options?
Your help would be greatly appreciated!

The problem is that your current ISP probably owns the domain, even though it's powered by Google. They have no obligation to keep your email address after you discontinue service with them. You could try contacting Google, but I suspect that there isn't anything that they can do, either.

The ISP has said that if I discontinue taking their internet service I will also lose the e-mail address.

That seems pretty clear.

As they own it any use of your current email address will require the active cooperation of your ISP. Any means of avoiding that would be illegal. All options to continue the use of that email address are entirely up to your ISP.

It may be possible to maintain an account with your current ISP for email only and use another for other Internet activities. Talk to your new ISP about that.

I spoke to my ISP and they said that once I discontinue their service I will lose the e-mail.

I may pay for the e-mail for a period of time and gradually phase it out.

Thank you all for your replies!
