Changing Router Password

I need to access my router's (Cisco E3000) configuration utility, but of course, that requires entering a username and password, which I guess that I must have used something even unusual to me, because now it won't accept anything that I can think of.

How do I discard the current username and password, and create new ones?

go on your browser and type in the IP Adress it should bring up the router controls off the web page from there go and change all the settings you choose

Yes, the IP produces a login window, but without any provision that I find to change or create them.

what about work group password doesn't give you an clue to the other password

Also you typed it in the adress bar correct you should be able to change it from there i did with no issues when i found my router made it's own password insead of the one i made

Hi seekermeister,

When you click here=> http:// 192.168.1.1 try the default Username for your router which is admin and Password is also admin. As soon as you access, you may change the UserName and Password.

If you are locked out, worst case is a reset to the factory default then reconfigure everything.

I've reset my Router many times, it's a good exercise. Needs to be done if you cannot remember your password.
