Changing system tray icons.
Hi all,
Im trying to change the system tray icons in windows 7 home premium but it doesnt work. I tried it with a program called PS Tray Factory and it crashed my explorer.exe. Seems like its not compatible to windows 7 yet.
Anyone know of another way to change them?
OS Windows 7 64bit Home Premium
You can take ownership (
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1911-take-ownership-shortcut.html ) of the appropriate dll files that generates the system Trey icons, and then back them up (for restoration of the originals , if needed) and replace them with the modified ones.
For example, SndVolSSO.dll for system trey sound icon, ActionCenter.dll for action center icon ,etc. they are situated in C:\Windows\System32
In deviantart.com, you may have a lot of nice system trey icons
