Solved Changing windows explorers white paper background color

It seems this is the only area where a different background color can not be changed, stuck with blinding white,
Been in advanced windows color and nothing applies to explorer, tried all categories,
Programs are effected most anyway,
Any hacks out there

you can use one of those two tutorials in post 69 to enable custom themes and browse deviantart.com for custom themes.

awful white background of windows explorer

My Dell Vista 32 bit died after six years and I replaced same with Dell Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and I have everything in my favorite colors of orange and green, but the damn Windows Explorer white drives me nuts, with the lavender/blue trim. I am a designer and like my pc pages to match my decor. Many don't like the white due to it giving them eye strain. I loved Vista and everything was orange and it stayed that way. can someone help please?
