I dont always know if truely power adapter has been correctly pluged unless I turn it on to see the charging indicator on the battery ICON. Pls, what can I do to show red light while charging?

Hello MG mate a lot of the LEDs used for the charge light actually change colour so say for charging they will glow yellow for example and then green for fully charged.

Now depending on what sort of LED/s it is either means you have to replace the charging one or the whole thing as some LEDs work on circuitry that will change the colour depending on the stored charge ie volts and theoretical available current.

this may give you an idea on what I am saying https://www.sparkfun.com/products/105? &

Having said all that to replace is no mean feat you need to be able to disassemble the machine and from experience those LEDs are very small. For what it is worth my friend I would just accept that the fully charged comes on if it doesn't well something is wrong either with the battery or adaptor

Oh by the way I meant to mention my Toshiba's show me when power is hooked up too so in effect I have three LED indicators on the machine

@ICit2lol, thanks for d reply. It shows white light when pluged to Alternating Current Socket, and the white light is off immediately instead of showing AMBER-COLOUR which indicates CURRENTLY CHARGING, but nothing like that. It only shows back the white light when fully charged. Pls what can I do to rectify this? Any Idea???

I don't think so MG mate as one of the the LEDs has either gone south.

There is usually three indicating LEDs as you say one for the power is hooked up one for charge and one for fully charged or sometimes you can get dual and triple element LEDs that work off different sensing circuits.

Another more likely cause is the circuitry driving the LED set up has - that is to say the charging level detection is malfunctioning for some reason. So if you cannot do this job yourself and personally it sounds very fiddly, probably difficult without expensive equipement - not to mention the arm and a leg they will charge you for doing the job.

So I guess it is really up to watching that the fully charged comes on and making sure the battery is holding th charge for a reasonable time . Lithium batteries do have a finite shelf life which starts from the day they are manufactured and three years is "getting on" for a lithium based battery.
