I'm sorry if I've misposted, but I'm not sure where this inquiry would fall.

I just bought a new laptop with Windows 7. I tried to install AIM and Google Talk. I was unsuccessful with AIM, but I'm more concerned with my Google talk application. I have restarted, and it will work fine for a few minutes, but then it freezes. My MSN Live Messenger is the same sometimes, too. Does anyone have any suggestions rather than just rebooting my computer?

Before we begin we need some information. What Firewall or A/V are you using ??

I'm not sure about the firewall...

But, I changed the compatibility mode to XP, and it seems to be working fine for now. I'll let you know if it continues crash.
