I tried to login to a chatroom that I was a Member of and the page below showed up. My PC went crazy. The page below cascaded and cascaded, my Task bar filled up until the buttons were merely lines. I couldn't stop it. Shutdown wouldn't work. it just filled my desktop with page upon page of this information. I did a hard shutdown with my power button. when I turned it back on, the pages just kept loading.

I went back after some minutes and my Browser IE9 was useless, no networking capabilities. I had to delete IE9 and reload from a CD and completely start over in a recovery. It took two full days to finally resolve this issue and get my browser back working along with other issues.

Here's the page I did recover:

No, you were not hacked. This looks like an application error at the server end.

You will see these errors from time to time. Can be caused by careless programming (and/or poor testing), scenarios where there are multiple computers that serve applications and one or more are not responding, or sometimes issues with new versions of browsers.

This can't be an "induced error"?

Something programmed in specifically, because I know of no one that has had this problem with them.

Thanx

Of course it can be induced. I have done it myself in the past when I have been writing web code at 4am and been at it all night.

This is where the error occurred.. c:\build\branches\Release\20130716_1\Source\GlobalRegistration\Services\UserService.cs:811

This refers to a script at the remote server end, not on your computer. Be that as it may, there doesn't appear to be anything malicious about the crash.

I'd say you're lucky of you've never seen it. I know of very few people that haven't seen web site crashes at least once.

In any case, there are other highly knowledgeable people here. Perhaps they might chime in with their thoughts.

I'm not second-guessing you, but with the crash it put on my system.....

Thanks much and "g'day".

No problems at all. It is possible I am not reading it right, and as I said, others will chime in if I missed something.

I've found that flushing my DNS cache (ipconfig /flushdns), or rebooting clears things up if the problem persists.
