Cheaper build. Is this good?

Hi my last build got crazy expensive. I may have money for it if. Then i will get it. But i had to get another system too if it was to expensive so i came up with this. Sends the link. Sorry for the swedish webbsite but the components is pretty much the same name vise. The psu is modular.

Thats actually a good deal, however, I would add an SSD to really take advantage of your system. Even if you don't add an SSD, that is a pretty sweet system.

First ditch the grounding wrist band. Just keep touching metal and don't shuffle your feet on the carpet. Then up the ram to 1866 and consider GSkill if your on a budget...it's crazy good or jump to the Crucial tactical tracer. Then consider two must haves a 128gb SSD and a good after market CPU cooler air or sealed water, both are falling in price every day, consider the Crucial m4 and the Thermaltake Frio or the 2.0 sealed water or other similar brands.

Dont whant a ssd. The budget it tight as it is
Did remove the anti static band.
Going to add a cheap air cooler. Becouse i wont overclock. When i will i will get a better one. A thing amd does better is that some of their cpu coolers is really good compared to intels i3 and i5 stock coolers

I totally respect the use of a grounding band. I have two and I used to use the first one until my first build. Somehow I forgot to wear it and all came out well. Now on my umpteenth build all on carpet I haven't had an issue yet. But I agree that it's a risk I'm taking. By constantly touching the case and other things I discharge any build up. And as your only as good as the actual ground your making and 99% of the time you'll place the clip on the case it's all the same.

I too like to live life dangerously and choose not to use a grounding band when I work on computers. My work space has wood floors and a marble topped desk so there is really nothing that can build up a charge for me. Obviously your situation will be different, so make sure you are being careful if you chose not use the band.

The build looks good but I noticed that you got rid of the 1TB HDD and went with a 500GB HDD instead. 500GB should be fine for JUST gaming but if you plan on putting music, photos and movies on your drive as well I would recommend something much bigger.

I think that you are getting good deals with the components you are buying, but I think it is possible to make a few changes without sacrificing performance. For example your case. It might be better to find another case that isn't so "name brand". I know there are some brands like Gigabyte, DIYPC and even Diablotek that sell really clean cases for around 20$ - 30$. Yes the may not look as nice as your more expensive case but they will get the job done at a fraction of the price. Also your PSU. I love Corsair and think they make great products but they can be a bit expensive at times. I would look at some other brands like Sea Sonic (who actually makes PSUs for Corsair) because they are typically the same PSU just rebranded and cheaper.

I whent for the 500gb becouse even on my old computer i only used like 60% harddrive at maximum. And i could always plonk in another one when i whant to

Well in my laptop its a 5400rpm 500gb drive and thats really fast. Faster than my old 7200rpm desktop hdd and my freinds 7200rpm on his desktop...

But 5400RPM cannot be faster than 7200RPM. It's probably other factors making the laptop seem faster. Less bloatware or fewer programs on Start Up. Many many reasons!

This would also depend on the RAM and CPU. If all is equal or near so, a 5400 drive will never be faster than a 7200. Slap a 7200 in your lappy and see.

Also I find that upping the cache to 64 will also speed things considerably, always purchase primary drives with the largest available cache and the fastest rotation you can afford.

I completely agree with the last three comments. Your other 7200RPM HDD my have felt slower because of what was on it or other slower computer components could have been playing a part in it. Also as linnemeyerhere has already stated, you want to make sure your primary HDD is on the faster side, especially if you are not getting any SDDs.
